Covid-19 is still here. We are still social distancing and taking all the precautions needed to be safe, and travelling is impossible. And as I look out of my window, with the roads and houses covered with snow, and remembering that this last week we had a brutally cold week with temperatures below 40℃. I thought of those warm places I left behind. One of them is the beautiful Cayos Cochinos.

Cayos Cochinos consists of small islands situated on the northern coast of Honduras, and proudly, almost inhabit! That means that if you want to disconnect from civilization and immerse yourself with nature…this is the place!
Because of their unique eco-environment, they have been declared a biological marine reserve. Even today, getting to Cayo Menor is only permitted for scientists and people that work for the Honduras Coral Reef Fund. Cayo Grande is an island where tourists can go, but only by boat.
The coral reef found in Cayos Cochinos is part of the second biggest coral reef globally – the Mesoamerican Barrier Reef. One of the essential features of the Mesoamerican Barrier Reef System.
